A logbook from your jobs: who, where, when and how many kilometres, without a paper notebook

If you drive to customers you need a vehicle logbook. Homeearly builds it from jobs already in the system: date, driver, vehicle, from, to, purpose and distance. Just export it for your accountant.

A logbook from your jobs: who, where, when and how many kilometres, without a paper notebook

The vehicle logbook is one of those jobs that gets put off until the end of the year. Then you sit with the calendar trying to remember who drove where and when. Yet most of that data is already in the system: every job has an address, a date, a worker and often a calculated travel cost.

Trips put themselves together

Under Finance → Logbook choose a period and the system builds a trip list from your jobs:

  • date and driver,
  • vehicle: a Vehicle resource assigned to the job, or entered manually,
  • from (company address) and to (job address),
  • purpose and distance from the Travel section.

You can include return trips and scheduled jobs and filter by driver. Jobs with no distance are left out and listed separately with a link to fill it in, so nothing slips through.

Export for your accountant

Download the overview to Excel (CSV) and send it to your accountant. Odometer readings are not tracked yet; add them to the export if you need them. Before using it for tax purposes, check with your accountant what your logbook must contain.

Bonus: travel on the invoice

When you fill in travel on a job, the system not only logs it but can also calculate and invoice it: as a flat fee, per kilometre, per hour on the road, with parking, tolls or an urgency surcharge. One entry, two uses.
