Bespoke furniture is made in the workshop, not in your inbox

Measuring, design, approvals, materials, fitting: a joinery job runs for weeks and details slip easily. See how to keep the whole job together from the first enquiry to the invoice.

Bespoke furniture is made in the workshop, not in your inbox

A fitted kitchen or a built-in wardrobe is not an afternoon's work. It starts with an enquiry and moves on to measuring, design, several rounds of changes, ordering boards and hardware, building in the workshop and finally fitting at the customer's home. All the while the phone keeps ringing, the customer sends alcove measurements over WhatsApp and a change of door colour by email. A week later, nobody is sure which version is the current one.

Homeearly keeps the whole job together: the enquiry with photos, the measuring appointment, the quote, materials, documents, fitting and the invoice. You get to focus on the wood.

A website that shows off your work

With bespoke furniture, photos sell. If you don't have a website, you can build one in the admin in a few minutes from details already in the system. It runs free at homeearly.eu/firma/your-business and comes with a design for your trade, a gallery of finished kitchens and wardrobes, services with prices and photos, a map and contact details. Terms and conditions and a GDPR notice are generated automatically. Default services include a made-to-measure kitchen, built-in wardrobes, measuring and design, and furniture repair, and you can tailor the list however you like.

Prospective customers click "Enquire", describe what they have in mind, attach a photo of the room or an inspiration picture and see how busy you are.

Have your own site? Keep it and add the form

An established workshop usually has a website and there's no need to rebuild it. Embed the enquiry form with one snippet of code, or put the link on the Instagram account where you show your projects, or on your Google profile. Enquiries that arrive by email are offered as enquiries to approve once your business mailbox is connected, and the customer's follow-up replies are attached automatically, while the mailbox itself stays untouched. More under enquiries and online booking.

Useful in a joiner's everyday work

  • Quotes approved online. The customer confirms via a link, you create the job with one click and it's clear what was agreed.
  • Documents with the job. The design, contract or drawing in PDF sits right with the job instead of being buried in email.
  • Materials and stock. Log boards, edging, hinges and handles against each job, so you know what's in the workshop and what needs ordering.
  • Travel costs for fitting, as a flat fee or per kilometre.
  • Field mode for fitting: navigation, photos of the finished piece, notes and the customer's signature on screen.
  • Signed handover protocol that closes the job without any disputes.
  • Profitability reports with an alert when a job is slipping into a loss, and a suggested price based on similar jobs.

How one job might run

As an illustration: on Monday an enquiry comes in through your website for a built-in wardrobe in an attic room, with a photo of the sloping ceiling. You arrange a measuring visit and put it in the calendar, which also shows up in the calendar on your phone. After measuring you upload the design to the job and send a quote. The customer approves it online and the job is created. During production you take materials out of stock. On fitting day your phone guides you to the address; once done, you photograph the wardrobe, the customer signs the handover protocol and an invoice with QR payment goes out. When the money arrives, it's matched automatically.

Why it makes sense

Less searching through emails and messages, one clear version of the agreement, and a view of your materials and whether the job paid off. On top of that, faster payment and a professional impression that customers notice when ordering higher-value furniture. More on the Homeearly for joiners page.
