Checking payments by hand is the kind of job nobody likes and everybody postpones. The result? A reminder goes out to a customer who paid long ago — unpleasant for both sides.
How automatic matching works
- The system connects securely to your bank account (read-only — it cannot send anything).
- It regularly downloads incoming payments.
- It finds the matching invoice by payment reference and amount.
- It marks the invoice as paid and stops the reminders.
Is it safe?
The connection goes through licensed providers under the European PSD2 directive. You log in directly at your bank, the system never sees your password and access is read-only. The consent is also renewed periodically — and you can revoke it at any time.
What to do with payments that don’t match
- Missing payment reference — try matching by amount and payer name, then confirm manually.
- Partial payment — record it against the invoice, the rest remains outstanding.
- One payment for several invoices — split it manually, the system will remember.
Tip: The biggest helper for matching is the QR code on the invoice — the customer can’t get the payment reference wrong.
How to do it in Homeearly
You can connect Fio bank as well as other Czech banks (Česká spořitelna, ČSOB, KB, Air Bank and more), and payments are matched with invoices automatically. Details on the Integrations with other services page.
